Happy 2011 !!!!

Welll... I'm giving Project 365 a shot again.  I missed the first two days, so I'm starting off with 3 pictures for today.  The year began on a weekend.... so this will have to suffice.

Finally... my iPod Touch is out of it's case that it was sitting in for slightly over a year.  I won it with Rewards Points thru work, but had remorse after I ordered it because I ordered the 8gb instead of one of the larger ones.  Oh well, it's here to stay now.  It's going to my husband and I'm going to order a 32 or 64gb one for myself very soon.  I just need to fully figure this one out first so we can start listening to some tunes.

Next is my AJ's Fine Food reusable acrylic cup filled with water.  I have this with me wherever I am.  I live on water and love this cup.

And now.... my Snaggletooth boy, Hudson.  He is only 6 years old (not even 6.5 until March), but he just lost his 7th tooth today!  He has two permanent teeth on the bottom and five holes.  At least two more permanent teeth are starting to finally come in.  So he'll only have 3 holes pretty soon.  I don't think he has any other loose ones..... for now.

(btw, all these pics were taken with my phone today... for some odd reason the first two are smaller than Hudson's pic)

Day 43: Goofs!

Day 43:  Goofs!
After tossing the football around in the backyard, the boys decided to goof around with the football and the soccer ball.
(Hudson was a little toasty so we ended up playing shirts vs. skin... LOL)

Days 40-42: I'm officially caught up!

Day 42: Love!
It was Hudson and Griffin's "Friendship" party at school.  I guess that is the new "PC" name for a Valentine's Party at school.  Aren't we all so cute together?

Day 41:   Backwards!
Goofy Griffin decided to wear his shirt backwards all day.

Day 40:  Yummm!
okay.. not the best of pics.. but it was almost midnight and I needed something.  I just happened to be eating these yummy Golden Double Stuff Oreos.

Days 30-39 - now up to date :)

Day 39:  Exhausted!
Hudson was so tired after school.  He laid on my lap while Griffin was getting his hair cut.

Day 38:  Gymnastics!
They had so much fun at their friend's birthday party.  The uneven bars was their fave activity (excluding eating cupcakes).

Day 37:   Pride!
My boys are the only two who have scored soccer goals so far this season.  It's usually one or the other one, but this game they BOTH did.  Griffin scored first and then Hudson scored the next two.  We won 3-0!

Day 36:  Anticipation!
Our weekly ritual is waiting and watching the garbage truck.  It's just getting ready to turn the corner to come to our house here.

Day 35: Wishes!
Shopping for a friend's birthday party.. and wishing it was their own party with presents for them.

Day 34:  Paperwork!
Kindergarten registration papers for next year.  Way too many papers I need to complete.

Day 33:  Giants!
This is the growth chart my MIL kept and recorded my husband's, my SIL's, and their cousins height records up until age 6.  A couple years ago we started adding in Hudson and Griffin.  Hudson is already 46.5 inches - 2 inches taller at 5y5m than his dad was at 6 yo.  Griffin is 42.5 inches - the same height as is dad was exactly one year later (Grif is 4y 4m and his dad was 5y4m).

Day 32:  Trash!
Getting ready for trash day and making sure our trash can looks "funny" with things sticking out the side with the lid down.

Day 31:  Trains!
Barnes & Noble Kids is a great escape.  We have more trains at home, but these are more fun at times.

Day 30:  Cars!
Griffin is so proud of his big line of cars.

Day 29: Garbage Truck!

Our Friday lunchtime ritual - waiting for the garbage truck. It's picking up our trash and my boys are jumping with excitement.  They then went even crazier because another garbage truck passed by on the other side of the street.
Double the pleasure!

Day 28: Trains!

We spent a couple hours hanging out at Barnes & Noble this afternoon - reading stories about all different rescue vehicles, trucks, busses, etc and playing with the train table.

Day 27: Cookie!

ok... this might not be the best pic ever...
but it is the only one taken today & I took it with my Droid......
They both really enjoyed the big cookie cake at a friend's birthday party today.  (I did too)

Day 26: Twins! (kind of sort of)

They are almost Irish twins.  Hudson is 13 months older than Griffin.  Most every day (maybe 360 days of the year) they dress themselves different from each other.  Last night Hudson picked out clothes for both of them for school this morning.  He's the one who chose for them to look alike.  Aren't they so cute?

Day 25: Discovered!

This is the remains of the dinosaur egg.  My boys received two large (red clay) dinosaur eggs for Christmas with a little chisel and brush.  After about 20 minutes of chiseling one of the eggs, the headless Stegosaurus was released.  Somehow the head was broken off & we couldn't figure out where it was supposed to be.  It didn't look like any parts were sticking out of the last couple of large egg chunks.

Day 24: Artist!

Remember the paints from yesterday?
Well, my little artist went to work this afternoon in the backyard.  We didn't have much time to paint today, so tomorrow after school we're going to have a lot more fun with it.
I decided to play with the color in this pic too and I really love how it turned out.

Day 23: Paints!

The last thing my 5yo requested from me before I went to work was to make sure I bought paint before I came home.  I promised him yesterday and earlier today, but I kept forgetting.  I did remember tonight.  He'll be so happy tomorrow morning.  My only issue is that I only bought one color which states it is washable.  I think all temperas are supposed to be washable, but now I'm not sure.  I guess we'll find out.

Day 22: Lunch!

My boys come up with some pretty creative sandwiches at times.  Today's lunch was no exception.  This is actually my 5yo's concoction.  It's buttered toast with mini Nutter Butters and fruit snacks.  My 4yo decided it looked really tasty and he wanted one for himself.  They must have been tasty since they ate all but but one side crust of each sandwich.

Day 21: ZZZZZZZZ!

Our weather was crazy tonight!  We live in the desert and don't have rain too often.  This week was way abnormal.... not just an hour or so of rain.  It's been on and off all week.  Tonight we had tornado warnings and crazy winds & rain.  The howling of the wind outside scared my 5yo.  He ventured into my office & crashed on the floor. ZZZZZZZZZZZZ!  I might have to cover him up for the night.  It might be better than trying to get him back up in the top bunk of his bunkbed.

Day 20: Upgrade!

FINALLY SCHMINALLY!  My husband upgraded my PSE4 to PSE7 for Christmas (PSE8 was out of stock).  When I exchanged it, I upgraded to the one with Premiere since it was on sale for the same price as what he paid for the PSE7.
Today I finally installed my PSE8.
YAY!
PSE4 worked just fine for me, but I can't wait to see how much more wonderful PSE8 is.

Day 19: Rain!

Pretty unusual for us - we've had rain most all of today and rain is also scheduled for the next couple of days.  Rain sure doesn't stop my guys for playing with trucks in the backyard.  Here's my 5yo with one of his favorite trash trucks with lots of standing water in the corner of our backyard and soooo happy!

Day 18: treat!

I stopped by Target on my way home from work tonight to grab a couple of essentials we needed at home.... and then walked past the ice cream and decided to get myself a special treat for while I stay up late to design.  FYI - The coloring isn't off on the photo of this little pint, most of it is frosted over.

Day 17: Laugh!

All day the excitement was building for the Pump It Up birthday party which was late in the afternoon.  They had a blast on all of the bouncies, enjoyed their pizza... and then had the best belly laughs at their two friends across the table.  The friends were sticking their tummies out showing us that they were full.  Their moms acted a little embarrassed since their sons were being silly and I was loving every bit of it because I was able to grab some fabulous shots of my guys laughing their heads off.

Day 16: King!

Every night before I bed my guys get an option of a story or a quick game.  Usually we play Go Away Monster, but tonight they chose Funny Bunny.   It's such a cute game (and pretty fast too).  It's good with counting and logic, but they don't really think of it that way.  They just get so excited for the chance to be "King of the Carrot".

Day 15: The Crooked Tree

Here is our fabulous crooked tree again.  After a nice long walk on our beautiful January Friday, they had a blast climbing this fun tree, then we played ball in the greenbelt before we headed home.

****

I would've opted for a different picture for today.... IF... my phone wasn't dead or if I had my camera with me .............. get this crazy night of mine......

I was 1 of 3 cars that hit big metal crates on a little highway - ripped my sidestep off my car, along with a couple big scrapes...... wish I could've taken some pics there.............took a neighbor to the airport & only about a mile away when it happened.... everyone was ok, but the car behind me ended up with a huge huge dent in his driver's door and shattered window, somehow he only had one very minor cut.........over 2 hours with the cops while they wrote up 3 collision reports- and luckily my boys were angels in the backseat the whole time and nobody at all got hurt

Day 14: b'bye gray!

Today I colored my hair myself with the help of L'Oreal Couleur Experte Express.  It was the first time I've done it myself in 2 or 3 years.  I just haven't taken the time to go to the salon for a few hours in probably over 3 months and my gray was really coming through.  I botched my highlights a little bit, but it didn't turn out too shabby... and the best part - most of my grays are gone!  YAY!
